Magazine on hand at UE3 company's two UK 'developer days'
Develop has secured a partnership with Epic that will see the magazine on hand at the UE3 company's two-day game development event.
The July event brings together a pair of one day workshops for users of UE3 and UDK, providing a chance to gain practical guidance from the teams behind the technologies.
Opening the event, the Epic Developer Day takes place on July 13th, and is targeted at professional UE3 users, while the Unreal University that follows fills July 14th, and will concentrate on introductions to UDK.
"Epic's UK developer days will be warmly received by coders of all skill levels and are a testament to our country's wildly diverse games dev culture, with studios big and small," said Michael French, editor in chief of Develop, which is also seeing distribution at Develop in Brighton.
"We're delighted to have Develop on hand at both the professional and UDK days," added French.
The Epic Developer Day has been conceived for anyone under Epic's non-disclosure agreement for commercial Unreal Engine 3 evaluation and/or full license.
Scheduled sessions are set to cover a range of topics, and opportunities to question Epic and seek advice on trouble shooting are to be made available. Epic has confirmed that it is happy to sign NDAs prior to event. Those interested in the NDAs should contact European territory manager Mike Gamble.
Unreal University delivers a new academic initiative that promises to provide professional, hands-on guidance to those interested in UDK. Session topics are set to cover getting started with UDK, level design best practices, mobile game development techniques and more.
