The UK's smartest games companies prove their intellectual clout

Develop Quiz: Peppermint P, Curve and Marmalade triumph

Last night the industry’s finest gathered together for the latest Develop Quiz, which saw Peppermint P take home the top prize.

Hot on the PR outfit’s heels were second placed London indie Curve, just one point behind. In third place was cross-platform mobile technology company Marmalade.

As ever the night was loud and boisterous, and charged by an exceedingly popular free bar. This time rounds challenged the grey matter of numerous developers, tool companies and service providers on all important topics such as crates in video games, console boot sounds, movie characters and obscure gaming hardware.

The sold out event welcomed 85 leading UK games developers to central London’s up-market Sway Bar. If you want to be there next time, check back with us for more on the first 2012 Develop Quiz, or email kathryn.humphrey@intentmedia.co.uk

Thanks to our generous sponsors Wave Studios and Avatar Games Recruitment, last night’s quiz was a huge success, and everybody enjoyed themselves a great deal.

Peppermint P took home the treasured Develop Quiz trophy, £2,000 worth of studio time with Wave, a £2,000 Develop ad credit and ample quantities of champagne.

Meanwhile Curve secured themselves a cherished lunch and interview with the Develop team, a session with a professional masseur courtesy of Wave Studios, and plenty of champagne. Marmalade, meanwhile, made away with champagne, and a box of luxury cupcakes, again thanks to Wave Studio’s generosity.

The atmosphere was a certainly anarchic, the industry demonstrated impressive knowledge of the sound of a NeoGeo firing up, the translation of Katamari Damacy’s literal meaning caused furrowed brows, and a fair few business cards changed hands.

In order of score, starting with the highest, the following teams did battle at the Develop Quiz:

1. Peppermint P
