Wholly owned subsidiary will act as hub for global localisation and publishing efforts
Daganronpa developer Spike Chunsoft has announced the creation of a North American subsidiary, that will be a large part of the company's global strategy moving forwards.
The subsidiary, wholly owned by the Japanese developer, will serve as a base of operations for both the game's global publishing strategy but also serve as a hub for organising the company's localisation efforts.
In a press release announcing the news, a Spike Chunsoft spokesperson said: "Our world today is more connected than ever — we can play games with people across the globe and
exchange information in multiple languages instantaneously. But even as information is more easily shared, the world still holds a wealth of undiscovered entertainment. As Spike Chunsoft, it is our goal to cultivate this potential into something new andmmemorable that transcends time, genre, and nationality."
Until this point, Spike Chunsoft has developed their games in Japan, with business partners distributing the game worlwide. Moving forwards, this will be handled by the company in North America.
There's no info on what they'll be working on first, but they have said that fans should expect more information to be revealed at GDC in March.
