Zoë Mode creative director and One Life Left host to open game design event

Curran to keynote 2010 Global Game Jam

Organisers of the game design event Global Game Jam have announced Ste Curran as its 2010 keynote.

The Zoë Mode creative director and co-host of UK radio show One Life Left will open the event which invites clusters of participants around the world to design games in an intensive 48-hour period.

Global Game Jam debuted last year, with participants at colleges and institutions around the world.

The 2010 Global Game Jam will take run from January 29th to 31st. Organisers says over 30 countries around the world including Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, UK, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Lithuania , Mexico , The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Portugal, Qatar, Scotland, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, USA, Venezuela and Colombia.

“We’ve doubled the number of venues we had at the inaugural Global Game Jam in 2009,” said Susan Gold, one of three founders of the Global Game Jam.

“With more sponsors coming on board and showing their support, and Ste Curran giving the keynote, we’re looking at a bigger and even better event in 2010.”

The GGJ is run with the support of the IGDA.
