UK studio expands to 21 staff in less than a year

Creative England invests in Caperfly

Creative England has awarded digital entertainment outfit Caperfly a slice of its £1m funding initiative to help further develop the studio’s product and technology strategies.

The investment stems from the Regional Growth Fund that takes the form of interest-free loans matched by company funds.

Caperfly said it aimed to use the funds to develop apps based around real-world situations and to further improve its data aggregation platform Consequences.

“We’re hugely excited that Creative England and Midven are sharing the belief we hold for Caperfly, and the digital market we operate in," said Caperfly CEO Gavin Cheshire.

"We’ll use the funding to maintain our growth momentum and further establish our innovative product and technology strategies.”

As well as beging awarded funding from Creative England, Caperfly has also received investment from Venture capital fund manager Midven.

The studio also revealed that since its formation in March last year, it has been steadily expanding its operations and now employs 21 staff.

Other studios to benefit from the latest investment round from the Regional Growth Fund include Atomicom and Remode.
