Major event in San Francisco is just one month away

Countdown to GDC 2015: Four developer days worth looking into

There’s just four weeks to go until the games development industry descends on the city fo San Francisco for this year’s Game Developers Conference.

As always, the week kicks off with not only a range of tutorials and bootcamps – detailed in last week’s Countdown to GDC – but full Developer Days, dedicating the entirety of either Monday or Tuesday to a specific development discipline or technology.

This year, there are four to choose from, and here’s what you can expect from each:

Monday, March 2nd

Google Developer Day
Room 2006, West Hall, 2nd Floor

The morning will begin with the latest announcements about Google’s development tools, followed by expert advice on how to build a business on Google Play and fact-packed Lightning Talks. The afternoon will then be spent in hands-on code labs, where you’ll learn how to build everything from Cardboard apps to massive multiplayer browser games.

npnf Developer Day
Room 2014, West Hall, 2nd Floor

Learn more about the Asian gaming market in a series of talks that will teach you how to build games faster, publish them on key Asian platforms and improve your art workflow. Experts on hand include representatives of Parse, Facebook, DeNA, KLab, Backflip and Kixeye, with talks including ‘Publishing: East vs West’ and ‘Attaining and Retaining Whales’.

Tuesday, March 3rd

Imagination DevelopersConnection
Room 302, South Hall

Hosted by Imagination Technologies, this day will demonstrate how devs can improve the look of their games on devices that use the firm’s PowerVR graphics. The company will share insights into PowerVR’s underlying architecture and how it impacts game code, and help devs maximise the performance of every aspect of their titles.

Unity DeveloperDay
Room 2014, West Hall, 2nd Floor

Unity reveals the latest additions to its widely-used enging and teaches devs how best to harness the technology’s power. Experts from Unity Technologies will reveal tips and tricks and share best practices on using the engine as efficiently as possible.
