An anonymous Activision employee has said OnLive is not a viable platform for an upcoming Spider-Man game, sparking anger across fan websites and social media.
The administrator of the official Facebook page for Activision’s new Spider-Man game wrote “we do not consider OnLive a platform for our game to appear on”.
It added: “We would rather focus on mainstream consoles and legitimate gamers"
The comment has since been deleted, though news site Eurogamer has a screen caption of the comment.
Spider-Man: Edge of Time is developed at Activision subsidiary Beenox. It is not known whether the comment has come from a developer at the studio, or a PR professional.
Activision has published no games on the OnLive network, which recently launched in the UK after an extended pilot period in the States.
