Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture racks up 10 awards nods, with Her Story and The Witcher III claiming seven each

Chinese Room, Sam Barlow and CD Projekt Red lead 2016 BAFTA nominees

British developers The Chinese Room and Sam Barlow are among those hotly tipped to win big at this year’s BAFTA Games Awards.

Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture leads nominations with nods in ten categories, including Artistic Achievement, Audio Achievement, Best Game, British Game, Game Innovation, Music, Original Property, Story and two Performer nominees for actors Merle Dandridge and Oliver Dimsdale.

Meanwhile, Sam Barlow’s Her Story placed in the shortlist for seven categories: British Game, Debut Game, Game Design, Game Innovation, Mobile & Handheld, Original Property and Story.

Matching its success is CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher III: Wild Hunt, which also collected seven nominations. The epic RPG from the Polish studio has been recognised for Artistic Achievement, Audio Achievement, Best Game, Game Design, Performer, Persistent Game and Story.

Rocksteady’s Batman Arkham Knight, Dontnod’s Life is Strange and Psyonix’s Rocket League closely followed with five nods each.

Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture, Fallout 4, Life is Strange, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Rocket League and The Witcher III: Wild Hunt will battle it out for the treasured Best Game accolade.

Meanwhile, Bloodborne, Grow Home, Her Story, Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, Rocket League and The Witcher III have been highlighted in the shortlist for best Game Design.

Promising up-and-coming developers recognised in the BAFTA Ones to Watch Award category include Pictrail for Selfienation, Mild Beast Games for Sundown and Pixel Tailors for The Wall Shall Stand.

The annual ceremony will take place on April 7th, with Dara O’Briain returning as host.
