Russian concept art studio Grafit acquired in expansion push

Shanghai-based outsourcing group Virtuos has acquired another production studio in a move to aggressively expand its services.

This time the firm has acquired Russian concept art studio Grafit, and has secured the studio’s workforce.

As part of the deal, Grafit has also sent two of its star performers - concept art directors Roman Tulinov and Victor Titov – over to Virtuos’ Shanghai studios.

The financial terms of the acquisition have not been announced.

Virtuos recently licensed Allegorithmic’s suite of Substance art tools, while in March last year the group acquired Besides Sound Production.

Virtuos CEO Gilles Langourieux said that combining both firm’s art production businesses will offer “a more fully integrated” art solution.

“We look forward to utilizing these talents and contributing to the creative conceptualization of more game and movie titles in the future,” he added.
