Cliff Bleszinski reunited with Epic Games team for upcoming free-to-play shooter

Boss Key chooses Unreal Engine 4 for Project Bluestreak

Boss Key Productions, the new studio founded by industry veteran Cliff Bleszinski, has released the first footage of its debut game, revealing the title is being powered by Unreal Engine 4.

It’s a reunion of sorts, given Bleszinski’s years of working at Unreal creator Epic Games, using the engine to create the popular Gears of War series.

The pre-alpha teaser video, which you can see below, shows some of the environments players can expect to see in Boss Key’s free-to-play FPS – currently known only as Project BlueStreak.

"We considered several options regarding what technology we’d use to build Project BlueStreak," said Boss Key founder and CEO Cliff Bleszinski.

"Ultimately, we found ourselves coming full circle to my friends at Epic Games and the elegant solution for rapid and quality game development that is Unreal Engine 4. We look forward to making a top-tier product through this partnership."

At GDC 2015 last week, Epic Games announced Unreal Engine 4 is now free to everyone.
