Wave of reinforcements for the military shooter studio

Arma 2 developer Bohemia Interactive has cemented its position as a leading European independent studio buy acquiring three neighbouring companies.

The Czech Republic studio has purchased Altar Games in Brno, as well as two Prague based studios Black Element Software and Centauri Production.

Financial terms of the buyouts were not disclosed, though it was said that all four studios will continue to operate individually, making Bohemia Interactive an umbrella development company.

“Game development stands and falls with the skills, vision and enthusiasm of its developers” said Bohemia CEO Marek Spanel.

“This acquisition strengthens our studio by adding extremely experienced and talented developers from three different teams at Altar, Black Element and Centauri. It is true milestone in our company’s history.”
Prague based IDEA Games will continue to partner with Bohemia to assist on development, marketing, PR and legal services.
