Emergent Game Technologies has announced that its Gamebryo engine is being used by Bulgarian studio Black Sea to make its new RTS WorldShift.
The game is currently in open beta and mixes the RTS with MMO genres.
"This combination of an RTS and MMO exemplifies the flexibility and modularity of our technology," said Geoffrey Selzer, CEO of Emergent. "We are dedicated to providing technology that enables studios like Black Sea to create beautiful, unique and creative games without limitations. WorldShift is a fantastic example of what you can do with Gamebryo and we are delighted to have worked with Black Sea on this title."
"Gamebryo’s suite of programming tools has enabled our development team to deliver what is sure to be an amazing online RTS game experience," said Vesselin Handjiev, Managing Director of Black Sea Studios. "We found Gamebryo to be the most robust and flexible platform out there. With it we were able to fully focus on designing and implementing all the innovative features in WorldShift, like multiplayer co-op gameplay for example, which we are happy to see many other RTS developers are now starting to adopt as well."
