Mass Effect: Andromeda, Dragon Age: Inquisition and Star Wars: The Old Republic exec ‘to return to Seattle for new opportunities there’

BioWare senior editor Cameron Harris quits the games industry

The editor for franchises including Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Guild Wars and Gears of War is to leave games development completely.

Cameron Harris has been at BioWare since late 2013, working on titles such as Dragon Age: Inquisition and upcoming sci-fi sequel Mass Effect: Andromeda.

She previously worked at the studio for six months in 2012, acting as managing editor on Star Wars: The Old Republic, subsequently spending another six months at ArenaNet on Guild Wars 2 before returning to BioWare.

Harris also spent time at Microsoft, helping with titles including Gears of War 3, Fable: The Journey and Crimson Dragon as editor and narrative producer.

“I’ve decided to exit the video game industry to return to Seattle for new opportunities there,” Harris tweeted.

“I’ll be leaving BioWare in mid-April.

“I had a great time at BioWare, working with so many talented, passionate folks. I’m grateful for everything you taught me over the years.”

Harris’ departure follows that of lead writer David Gaider, who moved across to new Baldur’s Gate developer Beamdog after nearly two decades at BioWare.
