Bigpoint and Square Enix are developing a new free-to-play online gaming platform that allows users to create their own levels, it has been revealed.
Gameglobe, being developed by Danish studio Hapti.co, is a “console level HD quality” browser-based title that will allow users to create and share their own created worlds.
“We’re very excited by the creativity unleashed through the collaboration between Bigpoint and Square Enix that allows us to bring an entirely new and innovative online gaming experience to players,” said Bigpoint exec producer Jan-Michel Saaksmeier.
”Gameglobe offers fun without limits and a vast selection of free-to-play adventures directly in your browser – and in full console quality HD graphics.”
Game director Rune Vendler added: “We want Gameglobe to be a community where everyone can get involved in the fun: play new games every day, share your favourites, or flex your creative muscles with your own designs."
Bigpoint will publish the title in Europe and North America.
