Film, game and advertising creative talent Ben Hibon joins animation production house

Axis Animation has hired film and game creative Ben Hilbon, who joins the company's roster of directors for video game projects.

Hilbon has worked on numerous game projects, creating the award winning Heavenly Sword short films, sequences for Killer 7 and art for J League 5. He has also contributed animation to Harry Potter film The Deathly Hallows, and worked previously with Axis on the Renault Clio ‘Animals’ commercial and short film Codehunters for MTV.

"Ben and I have known each other since 2006 and it is always a pleasure to work with him, he is this consummate professional and very talented," said Axis executive producer Richard Scott of the hire. "It is important to provide our clients in video games with the best creative solutions and Ben’s amazingly broad experience as a designer, illustrator and director allows us to bolster our already strong roster of directing talent. Ben’s track record with 2D animation, CG and live action fits perfectly with our goal to offer a range of exciting different styles to our clients."

"Axis and I have been sharing a passion for storytelling and animation over the years by creating fantasy worlds and bringing original stories and characters to life," added Hibon. "I'm thrilled to officially be joining the team and to have the opportunity to work closer with this talented studio."

Glasgow animation outfit Axis has produced numerous works for the games industry, including the infamous Dead Island trailer.
