Tools firm Autodesk will showcase its entry into the game engine space for the first time this week with a preview of its Stingray Game Engine at GDC in San Francisco.
The technology has been built on the core tech found in the Bitsquid engine, which Autodesk acquired last summer. The software is designed to help experienced and new developers alike create "graphically advanced games" for a wide range of platforms.
Last year, Autodesk told Develop its new engine will ‘change the way games are made and buildings are designed’.
The technical preview of Stingray will be held on Wednesday, March 4th from 3.30pm to 4.30pm in Room 3003 of the Moscone Center’s West Hall. During the demonstration, Autodesk will show how the engine allows devs to evaluate their game on multiple platforms, integrate with 3D content creation tools and more.
Studios can learn more about Stingray and apply for beta access at www.autodesk.com/stingray.
Developer Fatshark Games is already using the engine for its Warhammer: End Times title, Vermintide (pictured).
