Sony duo will discuss two decades of PlayStation, the history of console games and the next century
Sony Computer Entertainment president and group CEO Andrew House has been confirmed as a keynote speaker for the Develop in Brighton Conference, along with PS4 lead system architect and Development Legend winner Mark Cerny.
The two will give a conversation keynote entitled 20 Years of PlayStation, 40 Years of Console Games and 100 Years to Come, in which the duo will look at the history of PlayStation and how the original console boosted the mainstream appeal of video games.
"It is hard to believe it has been 20 years since the arrival of the first PlayStation," said House. "Mark Cerny and I will look back over this fantastic period in which console gaming became mainstream, how our experiences shaped PlayStation 4 and where the industry will go from here."
Cerny added: "We learnt a lot of lessons over the past 20 years, which shaped the decisions taken in designing the PlayStation 4. The Develop in Brighton conference is a wonderful opportunity for us to share some of these experiences with the industry and discuss what the future might hold."
The talk will take place during the Develop in Brighton conference, which runs from July 8th to 10th. You can find out more at www.developconference.com, where you can register for passes or read more about the free-entry expo.
Mark Cerny will also be present at the Develop Awards 2014 at the Brighton Hilton Metropole hotel on Wednesday, July 9th, where he will receive the prestigious Development Legend award.
