Writers Group Film corp. has acquired Amiga in exchange for stock and cash valued at $500,000.
Amiga Inc. was founded in 1996, and holds the rights to over 300 games including the IP associated with the original Amiga Corporation.
Amiga takes these classic games and redistributes them on modern game platforms.
The deal gives the distribution company all of Amiga’s common stock shares along with all existing licensing agreements with the IP owners of the company’s 300 plus titles.
"We are pleased to be working with this well-managed game developer and distributor, and we are excited that we are participating in their growth story through this acquisition,” said Writers’ Group chairman and CEO Eric Mitchell.
“We believe Amiga Games has an established value proposition that can enhance both revenues and returns to our bottom line."
