Organisers of the Artificial Intelligence and Interactive Entertainment conference (AIIDE) have revealed the dates for this year’s foray into game AI.
Taking place at Stanford University in the heart of Silicon Valley, California between October 22nd and 24th, AIIDE covers the application of artificial intelligence to games and entertainment, featuring talks about new developments in the AI field and experiences in deploying AI in commercial products.
"It’s an exciting time for entertainment AI," said Michael Mateas, conference chair and researcher at the University of California at Santa Cruz.
"We’ve seen many recent games succeed thanks to smart gameplay, interesting interactive characters, and lifelike worlds. AI is at the core of bringing all these elements to life, and AIIDE is where many of these new AI approaches are first presented, and where existing techniques are explored in depth."
