Amazon adds another major publisher to the list on the heels of Fire HD reveal

Activision endorses Kindle Fire with Skylanders

Activision is throwing its wright behind Amazon’s Kindle Fire and is releasing a new Skylanders title on the tablet.

The Skylanders franchise, which spans games and toys, has become a hit with younger audiences, and is now one of Activision’s best-selling titles of recent years.

Skylanders: Cloud Patrol for the Kindle Fire will allow players will be able to purchase toys from within the game app.

Players can purchase toys via in-app purchasing and physical toys will then be dispatched to them.

John Coyne, consumer marketing vice president at Activision explained that Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure was the number one seller for the first six months of 2012 in the USA and Europe, if you count accessory and toy sales.

The game will sell for $0.99 at launch and offers further unlockable digital content.

Amazon announced that its new Kindle Fire HD would be coming to UK and Europe at a press conference in California yesterday.
