Konami has admitted that recent breaches of its Konami ID system may have exposed customer data to theft.
Konami ID is a new system currently used only in Pro Evolution Soccer, but that hasn’t prevented the company from becoming the latest on the receiving end of a spate of security breaches.
From June 13th to July 7th, Konami has spotted 35,000 logins with a total of 4 million attempts.
While the company says it’s taken steps to prevent the affected IDs and passwords can’t be used to log in, it urges all customers to change their passwords.
Data that may have been exposed includes: name, address, date of birth, telephone number, and email address.
Konami claims that no unauthorized purchases have been made due to the breach.
"Konami has strengthened its security and raised its monitoring level," reads a statement.
"We request that those customers who use the same password for both their Konami ID and external services change to a new and different password.”
