Two versions of the BB10 on sale now: the Z10 and Q10
Mobile maker RIM today launched its long-delayed BlackBerry 10 headset, in an effort to turnaround its sinking fortunes.
The mobile was due to launch a year ago, but was postponed in order for the company to continue developing the device for the rapidly changing smartphone market.
The Canadian company, which announced it had changed its name to BlackBerry, held launch events around the world, including in London.
Two versions of the handset are available: the Z10 and Q10.
Though little has been announced on the consumer side, BlackBerry has been positioning its series 10 handsets as taking gaming seriously.

In 2012, it ran a series of developer days and ‘port-a-thons’, to encourage Android developers to bring their games to the platform. As part of its push, cash incentives were offered.
We spoke to BlackBerry’s global head of business development last year about what its plans were for the device in the games space.
Speaking to BBC Breakfast this morning, the company’s European MD said he expect the BlackBerry 10 to have the capably to last ten years.
Develop will have more on BlackBerry 10 and its use as a gaming platform in the future.
I've got all my Apps ported to the BB10 in just few days. I couldn't believed how simple it was to port my entire engine (C++, OpenGL, OpenAL) to the BB10. BlackBerry have done an amazing job on the tool side, I hope they succeed, it would be nice to have another platform to bring some kind of income stream.

From my experience Blackberry is the best appstore for mobile developers:-
1. Marketing and featuring in the appstore in the past has been free on request resulting in sales WAY above that of Android or iOS (for me at least) and on a regular basis.
2. It's free to sign up.
3. You can request to reject stupid reviews so they don't appear on the store front.
4. Having just 1 handset equals absolutely NO "fragmentation".
