Valve has launched a new service called Steam Guides that allows users to create and release their own manuals and references for games and software.
Users can create their guides through Steam, with the ability to make a table of contents to organise their manuals and also add in images, screenshots, videos and tables to supplement them.
At the time of writing, 1,259 manuals and references have been submitted by users for games such as Killing Floor, Torchlight II, ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead and Awesomenauts.
Game development tools such as GameMaker: Studio also have a number of guides, such as an "Introduction to level design" and "Tooltips in GML".
Guides for products on Steam can be found through either the Steam Overlay while using certain software and games, showing a selection of top-rated guides to users.
Steam Guides can also be found through the Steam Community by visiting any Community Hub and clicking the Guides tab.
