Hamburg-based studio enacts board re-structure as it plots mobile gaming push

InnoGames appoints new CEO

German browser games developer InnoGames has appointed co-founder Hendrik Klindworth as the new CEO of the company.

In a major board re-structure, Eike Klindworth will now take on the role of chief creative officer, while Michael Zillmer has been named as chief operating officer.

InnoGames chairman Gerhard Florin meanwhile has been made executive chairman and will now have more responsibility over strategic business decisions.

Chief financial officer Armin Busen and CMO Volker Dressel make up the rest of the board.

“Our major goal is to maintain the agility of a start-up in a dynamically growing company,” said Hendrik Klindworth.

“This is a huge challenge and the new management structure shall significantly contribute to master it.”

Florin added: “In the recent years, InnoGames reached profitable and sustainable growth with an approach to high quality, clearly defined target groups and worldwide marketing. It is very exciting to accompany this development as chairman of the board. Now, I am glad to have an even increased advisory influence to the company’s strategic plans in a trendsetting era for the whole online gaming industry.”

InnoGames also said that moving forward it had plans to further develop its mobile gaming output, with future titles to be made available with single accounts as cross-platform games on browser, tablets and smartphones.

The Hamburg-based developer also stated it would be expanding its staff count by 50 per cent across in the next few years to bring it to 300 employees.
