North America-based studios Enders Fund, Fathom Interactive, Fifth Column and FreezeTag to publish titles on mobile platform

Gree snaps up four more indies

Gree has partnered with four more North American indie game developers to strengthen its roster of social and casual titles.

Enders Fund, Fathom Interactive, Fifth Column and FreezeTag have signed deals with the mobile gaming giant to publish their titles on the Gree platform.

"We’re very focused on working with indie talent here at GREE and we’re committed to helping these guys succeed," says Gree interational SVP of marketing Eros Resmini.

"We know each of these guys is different. Some need the technology and some want to leverage our know-how – we’re happy to help them however we can."

Fifth Column Games’ CEO Andrew Marsh added: "As a small, indie developer, we face significant challenges in today’s highly competitive social mobile gaming market. Working with the GREE team allows us to focus on making a great game and getting it out to the right players, while maintaining full ownership of the title.

"We are impressed by GREE’s successes in this industry and how quickly they have been able to establish themselves as a worldwide leader. We look forward to working with GREE Platform to make our games an international success."

Gree has made a number of acquisitions and parternships in North America during the past year as it looks to expand its roster of games and services.

Previous deals include purchasing San Francisco developer App Ant and Paprika Labs, as well as partnerships with InfiniDy, Oceanside Interactive, SkyVu, Gamnauts, Hothead Games, Soma Games, SpaceGum and SiuYiu.

The mobile gaming giant also splashed out $210 million on mobile start-up Funzio in May as it looked to expand its “mid-core” range of titles on its social gaming platform.
