Leaked internal communication states marketing and production employees affected
Around 20 THQ employees have been laid off at the beleagured publisher, a leaked internal e-mail by company president Jason Rubin has revealed.
THQ recently posted positive earnings for the first time in several quarters, leading many to hope that the desperate shedding of studios and employees had ended.
The leaked e-mail however has revealed that 20 staff from marketing and production branches have been laid off as the publisher shifts focus toward development and different distribution methods.
"As you know, it is my vision for THQ to enter into new markets though new distribution methodologies, and reaching those consumers in those markets will take a different approach to marketing," read the document.
"It is also vitally important that we improve our production methodologies and oversight so that we are shipping better titles, on budget and on time."

"In our quest to make these changes, I have been looking at the Marketing and Production structure at HQ along with the heads of those departments, Rich Williams and Ron Moravek. We have identified changes that need to be made and thus today we reduced the size of these departments by about 20 individuals."
The e-mail continues to say that there is a good chance that in the future more jobs will be created as the publisher's fortunes reverse, and anticipates 20 new hires over the next year at Volition alone.
I am not going to purchase or buy or have anyone give me that WWE 13 game as a birthday present as a Christmas present not until you scrap that CM punk likeness on the video game cover I would rather want to see a likeness of John Laurinaitis on the new video game WWE 13 then I will get that I'm asking you Mr. Jason Rubin please scrap and trash the likeness of CM punk on the video game cover look Mr. Rubin I am sorry to say this I am not going to get that game until you trash and scrap the new video game cover of CM punk the other two choices that I have in mind for the new game WWE 13 would have Stone cold Steve Austin on the cover and then we have this guy here and his name is Mr. John Laurinaitis I like his likeness on the new video game WWE 13 so please just do as I ask scrap the old cover of CM punk this cover just seeing the likeness of that video game WWE 13 unacceptable and I am not going to purchase that item until you make those other new game likeness pictures of John Laurinaitis on the front and Stone cold Steve Austin on the back of the video game WWE 13 trust me on this and if you're company at thq don't do as I ask that I will be forced to take them to court and I'm just trying to say this from out of friendliness thank you for your time
