More than 200 developers worked on upcoming Xbox 360 title
Ten studios collaborated on the development of the upcoming Xbox 360 title Kinect Star Wars.
As unearthed on NeoGaf, the LinkedIn profile of Microsoft senior producer Adam Joseph states that he supervised “one production company and nine external teams” on the game.
His profile also reveals that these teams, including companies such as Frontier Studios, Rhythm & Hues and Skywalker Sound, consisted of more than 200 people working on the project.
Kinect Star Wars, primarily developed by Texas studio Terminal Reality, features motion sensing games such as pod racing, a galactic dance-off and light sabre battles.
The game is set to be released on April 3rd.
While I'm sure MGS will be grateful for the publicity and I appreciate the recognition for my part in helping to produce Star Wars Kinect, I would strongly suggest that you contact their Marketing Department for all the facts. Here's a bit more information:
- Jorg Neumann was the leader of the entire production team.
- Many Producers and PM's worked on this project in addition to me.
- Many external groups contributed in addition to the principle teams from Terminal Reality and Microsoft these included: Hydrogen Whiskey, Panic Button, Ruffian, High Voltage, Original Force, Dhruva, Valkyrie, Pearl, and more.
- The credits (included in the game) list more than 1,000 people!
Well despite the disparate team, some parts of the game ended up quite good, rancor rampage being a standout piece of fun. Although I wonder how you got approval from Lucas for the galactic dance-off. "im Han Solo, solo", classic!
