Mobile development platform Marmalade now enables cross-platform distribution for open source engine Cocos2d, the vendor has announced.
Maramlade licensees can now create titles with the 2D games engine for multiple mobile devices such as iOS, Android and Blackberry 10.
Games can also be developed and deployed to iOS from a Windows PC.
“It took just two weeks to port our existing Cocos2d game for iOS to Marmalade, and deploy it to Android Market,” said Albino Pixel technical director Dave Allanson.
“Now that we’re working with Marmalade, we can easily publish apps to a host of other platforms that were previously beyond our reach.”
Marmalade was recently featured in Develop’s Essential Engines Guide, which can be found here.
