But console giant will not unveil anything new about next-gen system
Nintendo has confirmed rumours that it will be showcasing the Wii U at the Consumer Electronics Show in January.
But speaking to 1up, the console giant revealed it would not be demonstrating anything new with its next-gen system, and will not have a booth at the event.
Attendees will instead be presented with the same demos shown at the E3 2011 expo back in June.
"Nintendo of America, working with the 2012 International CES management, will offer demos of the upcoming Wii U console to members of the media who did not see the system at the 2011 E3 Expo," said a Nintendo spokesman.
"However, Nintendo will not have a booth at CES, nor does it plan to include any games, experiences or information beyond what was available at the 2011 E3 Expo.
“Production and development efforts remain on track for the Wii U launch, which will take place between the start of the 2012 E3 Expo in June, and the end of 2012."
So it's most likely third party games they're showing. Nevertheless, it will be awesome. Hey Nintendo, if you want to do something really different, make a deal with Bethesda to get Skyrim on it, with mod support!
I thought the next time Nintendo showed the Wii U they wouldn't make the same mistakes as last time by not having any content. Although from the sounds of the article this will be very cloak and daggers in the back rooms.
At E3 this year Nintendo need to blow our minds, as honestly... The Wii U has already become swiftly forgotten.
