Indie browser animation tool released by Ikinema

Rigging and motion capture data tool WebAnimate 'designed for small studios and amateurs'

Ikinema has begun the public beta of its new browser-based animation service, the company has announced.

WebAnimate is available for free during the Beta period, and it allows users to fashion rigs, manipulate bones and retarget/customise motion capture data and animation.

Users can also use the platform to port motion capture data from cloud or local sources directly to their models.

The mo-cap studio stated the tool-set has been designed for smaller studios and amateurs, and after the Beta users will only be charged for commercial use.

“It’s time to make high-quality tools available to everyone in the animation community,” said Ikinema CEO Alexandre Pechev.

“We recognized a need for an affordable solution for small studios and amateurs exploring this field, so we adapted our product to address it.

"WebAnimate will give all indie developers a new power tool for their creative arsenal.”
