Apple approves Microsoft Xbox app for iOS

'My Xbox Live' gives customers mobile access to their gaming account

Microsoft has released a free Xbox product on the app store belonging to its old rival, Apple.

The iPad and iPhone application allows users to log in to their Xbox Live account and send messages, edit profiles, update avatars, manage friends and view achievements.

The app allows Microsoft to reach its customers when not bound to their home consoles and, in theory, could keep more people engaged with their Xboxes.

A more extensive edition of the application, called ‘My Xbox Live’, is available on Windows Phone.

The Microsoft mobile allows users to search for games, music and movies available through Xbox Live, as well as view second screen information while playing on console.

That was quite some time ago when Microsoft had non-voting apple stock, which was part of the cross licence patent lawsuit that they had been embroiled in for an age, and AFAIK they sold that stock many moons ago.

Not a bad idea though, I wonder when the steam app will be out :)
