Gameforge is to let go of around 100 workers in a downsizing operation, a new report claims.
The Karlsruhe based studio will reduce its headcount to about 350, according to GamesIndustry.biz.
"Through a more efficient organisational structure, we can optimise our use of resources and great potential for further growth increase," said CEO Alexander Roesner in a statement.
"This will strengthen our long term position in the dynamic market for online games."
In August last year, Gameforge acquired a 60 per cent stake of the MMO publisher Frogster Interactive Pictures, with an eye towards a takeover bid of the company at a share price of 25 Euros. At the time, Gameforge pledged to sustain Frogster as an independent company.
It is not clear of Frogster has been affected by the layoff operation.
