'20mb limit' on Vita 3G downloads

'20mb limit' on Vita 3G downloads

But Sony rep says this may change in future

Vita owners with a 3G connection will have a 20mb limit on downloads, an SCEJ spokesperson has said.

In an interview with Ascii, (translated by Andriasang), the rep said that despite the initial 3G limitations, this might change in the future.

The spokesman added that it is providing support to developers in regards to online technical limitations such as its 64kbps upload and 128kbps download speeds.

Both the Wi-Fi and 3G versions will be able to purchase items from the PS Store.

The PS Vita is due early next year in Europe and the US with 26 games planned for launch.

I am scared to see what it would cost for data in Canada, we already pay through the nose for everything data wise... hell we can't even get landline internet without being capped out the rear end. Last time I checked data is around $5.00/MB so paying $100.00 to download a 20meg game is the harsh reality for 3g networks in Canada... of course you can always pay $90 a month on a 3 year data term and be able to download slighty more, haha what a joke.... shame we will never learn and stop letting bell/rogers control the lines the public paid to have installed...

@Jon: Wasn't the 3G connection included in the price, like the Kindle?

Nope it isn't included. You have to pay for AT&T service for 3G. That or hack it.
