Sequel to XBLA game 'largely designed', says Cliff Bleszinski

Epic seeks dev partner for Shadow Complex 2

Epic Games wants to sign a co-development deal on the Shadow Complex 2 project, a company executive has said.

The sequel was initially abandoned by Epic during early stages of production.

Chair Entertainment, the Epic Games subsidiary studio that built the first Shadow Complex, was instead delegated the Infinity Blade project – an iOS game that went on to become an App Store trailblazer.

With Chair now thought to be hard at work on a new iOS title, an Epic Games executive says the project is open to the brightest bidder.

"Shadow Complex 2 is sitting there, it’s actually largely designed,” Epic design director Cliff Bleszinski told Gamasutra.

“We just need to find a partner that will help us to finish it so we can bring it to market," he said.

Shadow Complex remains one of the most critically acclaimed digital console games. Its sales figures are not known. Epic Games has already made more than $10 million from Infinity Blade revenues.
