Minecraft developer opts for services of online global payment service provider

Minecraft studio Mojang Specifications has signed with global payment service provider Skrill.

Through its deal with Skrill the studio founded by Markus Persson has been able to integrate all of its online global and local payment options, including debit cards, credit card and the eWallet options.

“The global success of Minecraft even took us by surprise; we are committed to meeting the demands of the fans from across the world who want to download the game and start building," said Mojang's business developer Daniel Kaplan. “By partnering with Skrill we are able to accept payments from much further a field and take the game to new territories across the world by offering gamers numerous ways to pay for the game”.

“It’s an exciting time for games publishers as the global market goes from strength to strength,” added Martin Ott, co-CEO of Skrill.

“However, for publishers to realise their true potential and generate maximum revenues, it’s vital they can offer a truly reliable and secure payment option in multiple languages with local options. Our partnership with Mojang offers a highly cost effective, one stop shop payment solution allowing them to optimise their revenue streams and market to new and existing users.”

Haven't they been with them for a while? The last time I looked all their payment options went to a Moneybookers page, which is what Skrill is.
