Farmville group completes fifteenth acquisition in thirteen months
Social games empire Zynga has purchased Toronto-based indie outfit Five Mobile for an undisclosed fee.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced, though Zynga said in a statement that it has only acquired some – not all – of Five Mobile’s assets.
The acquisition is Zynga’s fifteenth in thirteen months. The Farmville developer spent $100 million in 2010 due to its striking buyout craze.
Five Mobile’s studio founders – Ameet Shah, Jeff Zakrzewski, Oliver Tabay and Troy Hubman – will stay with Zynga, and report to the firm’s mobile boss David Ko.
It's kinda cocky of Zynga to start calling Five Mobiles, Zynga Toronto..Personally I don't think all these acquisitions will be beneficial in the long run for us consumers as this can lead to a monopoly which is never good.
