Bankrupt Kingdom of Amalur developer and Big Huge Games's back catalogue for sale
The assets of Kingdom of Amalur developer 38 Studios and its subsidiary Big Huge Games are going to auction in November.
38 Studios went bankrupt last year after accepting a state-sponsored deal that offered $75 million in exchange for relocating to Rhode Island.
The auction includes the rights to the Amalur universe and sequel development concepts, the MMO Project Copernicus, and associated merchandising. The auction will help pay off some of the debt accumulated by the studio's collapse.
The back catalogue for Big Huge Games, purchased by 38 Studios from THQ in May 2009, will also be for sale and includes titles like RTS classic Rise of Nations.
The Big Huge Games Engine and 38 Studios's development platform codenamed “Helios” will also be auctioned off.
The bidding will open on November 13th at 9am EDT and will end November 14th at noon.
