Sony's Buzz developer begins work on new project, Music in Motion

Relentless crosses the floor for Kinect work

UK developer Relentless has announced a new partnership with Microsoft that will see the studio work on a new title called Music in Motion for the new Kinect Fun Labs suite.

The company recently penned a deal with EA-owned digital games publisher Chillingo.

There has also been a restructure at the top of the firm, with co-founder David Amor becoming chief creative officer and Andrew Eades taking on the role of chief executive officer.

"It’s really exciting for us to partner with Microsoft and to see our first project bear fruit from our recent partnership revealed at E3," Eades told Gamesindustry.biz

"We’ve enjoyed working with Kinect and love the opportunity to bring accessible games and experiences to a broad audience. Kinect is a fantastic innovation that allows us to make fun games anybody can play."

Relentless is best known for its successful string of Buzz titles on PlayStation platforms.

The news is the latest in what has been a eventful year for the studio. In January it announced that it had ended its exclusivity deal with Sony as was to focus on the digital market – at the expense of boxed retail – going forwards.

The next month a number of job losses were reported at the firm. This was immediately followed by co-founder Andrew Eades heaping praise on Kinect and asking questions of Sony’s Move controller.
