JamLegend staff transfer to the FarmVille giant, reports claim

Music studio ‘shuts down and joins Zynga’

The team at Czech studio JamLegend has closed down operations and joined social titan Zynga, if reports are to be believed.

It is not known whether Zynga’s studio empire stretches into the European country. The CityVille company buys studios across the world at a rapid pace and doesn’t always publicly announce its new buyouts.

Zynga has yet to comment on the fresh rumours that a number of JamLegend staff will be joining the company.

Techcrunch claims that JamLegend “had $2 million in funding, led by co-founder of Tellme and iLike Hadi Partovi”.

The group’s spending and returns on investment have not been made public.

“After nearly three years of running JamLegend, we are shutting down the service to move on to new ventures,” read a prepared company statement.

“As of April 18th 2011, new registrations, JamCash deposits, and VIP subscriptions/extensions will cease, and on April 29th, 2011 we will close the service completely.”
