'Very ambitious plans' for the Free Radicals
Nottingham studio Crytek UK will likely announce its new project at E3 this year, a key executive at the company has said.
Amid widespread rumours the British group is resurrecting the TimeSplitters IP, Crytek co-founder Avni Yerli told Develop, “I think the gaming scene and the UK scene are going to be very pleased with the new project they’re working on”.
Crytek rescued the UK studio from insolvency back in 2008, when the cash-strapped developer worked under the Free Radical name.
Since that buyout, Crytek UK has remained independent in spirit, Yerli said in his interview with Develop.
“The way the studio is set up means we don’t have to tell them what to do – the thinking is more about what we can do to help them get on with their own work.

“We come to mutual conclusions on projects, and I think at E3 this year – or just after – we are going to make a big announcement that I think people will be happy about.”
Free Radical broke onto the scene with the well-regarded TimeSplitters series, a new IP that usurped Rare reputation as the UK’s FPS specialist. But the studio buckled under financial pressure after a deal with Square Enix broke down.
A Crytek UK TimeSplitters project, if the rumours turn out to be true, would represent a homecoming for the British studio that once stood on the precipice of disaster.
“Crytek UK are an extremely happy crew, I would say,” Yerli added.
“They were very pleased with their contribution to Crysis 2, and we have very ambitious plans for Crytek UK. The studio is now up to 85 people, with nice new offices! [laughs] The main thing is that the team are having a lot of fun – that’s the most important thing to us.”

I really hope you guys are working on Timesplitters 4, it would be great to see another addition to the series, give it your best guys, I know you can do it!
That would be great, considering that even the 2005 Timesplitters FP still pisses over new fps's like nobody's business.
On behalf of everyone else who wants a PROPER shooter, where it actually took skill to get anywhere instead of sitting in corners (I'm looking at you, CoD...) there's a HUGE amount of people who want this. Give us a shooter that's back to it's old roots, just like Timesplitters: Future Perfect. Run, aim, shoot. None of this perks crap, no 'expanding' bloom crosshairs, no killstreak rewards designed to aid campers; we want a REAL shooter. Exactly what Timesplitters was. If you stick to the orginal roots that formed Timesplitters, this (especially given CoD etc) has a massive potential to cement itself in the history books. So do yourselves, and everyone else, a favour: MAKE TIMESPLITTERS 4!!!
Don't forget about the pick-ups and health & armor-bars to make it the TS we want it to be.
And there's gotta be a map maker with lots of customization!!
Resistance FoM & UT3 were the last shooters to have pick-ups and they worked magic online!
I never got the same feeling that i got from TimeSplitters than from any other shooter. I'll be heartbroke if there won't be a TimeSplitter 4. It had humor but was still serious. And the characters were great! You can't play as a monkey in CoD! Please make TS4!
after TS2 & 3 gamers like myself had to resort to cod if you make a ts4 multiplayer like future perfect then you will have thousands of people buying it think about that crytec.
I signed my signature for the petition i hope like hell they make another timesplitters that game was amazing and playing with bots offline or people online would be incredible. Oh just one thing i would love to see more tile sets and more customized things in the map i could do so much with the maps it was great to be able to let my imagination run wild making so many maps i literally couldn't put the game down it was so fun.To even think of making another Timesplitters was a genius idea Ill be there when or if it comes out and ill wait with anticipation.
I don't think Future Perfect quite lived up to TS2. The story was better but i think I enjoyed TS2 more. My one concern is because It would be Cryteks project and not Free Radical Design, the game won't have the 'Timesplitters' feel about it and will be just be another shooting game. If TS4 is going to like Crysis 2 then Wow!!! But it needs to have the 'cartoony' element to it also. But I'm bored of CoD. Americans verses Taliban, AK47s and what now. Battlefied they're all the same...... I want to melt snowmen with the flamethrower and knock off a swer zombies head with a brick again. The world is calling for it.
I can not wait for TS4!! I loved future perfect, especially the map maker! My friends and I still play future perfect making new levels. Another great thing that I loved about future perfect was that I could have four people playing on my console and we could all play against computer players!!! What would be awesome would be to keep that feature of bots versus console players, but then make it so that four people could play on one console with other people over the internet, and a few bots in the mix!!! so sweet!!! I can't wait to get back into my magic carpet riding snowman again!!! woo!
Gears of war is probably my favourite game at the moment... Do you know why? Coz there is no TS4! Cod and gears have nothing on timesplitters, even halo tried copying timesplitters it was that good, but is halo timesplitters? No it is not!
Ts NEEEDS to come back out to bring gaming back to life! How dull are all shooting games today, they dont have monkeys or clowns! They have boring army men and silly locusts!
If ts4 doesnt come out there is a good chance lots of people will suffer from major depression, including me! Got my heart set on this game, dont let us all down!

where were you at E3? i waited, glued to the screen for 3 days straight hunting, searching, waiting ever so patiently and there wasn't even a mention of the new project you don't understand how much this has pissed me off.
I'm just sayin', but if you DID make the 4th timesplitters game, think of the money that would just PILE up in your lap, combined with CryEngine 3, and the good old fashioned Free Radical, You're looking at a multi-million dollar game, right there, and all you guys have to do is make it...
