OpenFeint is preparing to launch a new mobile network that will connect users of iPhones, Android and Windows 7 devices.
The OpenFeint Connect API allows developers “to release games on every app store for every device and take OpenFeint game data everywhere”, the company said.
It is understood that a game’s scoreboards, or even multiplayer features, can be accessed from competing mobile OSes.
It is the equivalent of PS3 users in the same online lobby as 360 users for the same game.
“We believe games should connect people, regardless of what device or mobile OS they own. With the release of OpenFeint Connect, we give game developers the flexibility they need to take their games and game data to players everywhere,” said OpenFeint CEO Jason Citron.
“Developers are always asking if we support the Mac App Store, now with this API, we can support them.”
