Aliens vs Predator studio releases social game Evil Genius

Rebellion is the latest member of UK dev industry’s old guard to embrace social gaming.

The company has released a free-to-play Facebook title Evil Genius.

Rebellion is once again hiring at the end of a rollercoaster year for the group.

Having seen its Aliens vs Predator project hit the top of the UK charts in February, the firm went on to close down its Derby studio and laid off an number of staff amid a row over redundancy pay.

So no luck finding a publisher for a proper reboot of this IP, or getting it onto PSN/XBox Arcade?

Makes more sense on FB than on XBLA

Since the original game was an RTS, it likely would be harder to adapt it to XBLA/PSN than to adapt it to Facebook. I think the base-building mechanic would lend itself pretty well to a free-to-play, microtransaction model.
