League Of Legends developer 'looking to add over 100 people'

Riot Games to double workforce in hiring spree

Riot Games, the independent Californian developer of MMO League Of Legends, is embarking on an employment rush with the aim to double its development workforce.

The company, which also has offices in Ireland, will begin filling roles at the start of 2011.

The studio’s president, Marc Merrill, told Develop it is looking to “add more than 100 people to Riot Games”.

The studio’s breakthrough hit, the MMO League of Legends, has a player base off 3 million users, the company said.

Riot Games’ plans for growth tie in with a number of unannounced projects underway at the firm.

Some of the new recruits will help the studio support League of Legends’ growing popularity, the group said.
