Develop 5-A-Side: Supermassive enters the fray

Big Match Striker maestros sign as headline sponsor; limited space for new entrants

The vuvuzelas are beginning to bellow for the first ever Develop Football Challenge, with UK studio Supermassive Games today signing as headline sponsor for the Friday October 8th networking and team-building event.

“We’re delighted to have been given the opportunity to support Develop in this event, and the timing for our teams couldn’t be better,” said Supermassive managing director Pete Samuels.

He said the Develop football Challenge was “a perfect opportunity to show off our studio’s athleticism, coordination and football-sense on the pitch. To be honest, I fear the worst!”

Supermassive will see its two key PlayStation Move games released in September – Start the Party and Tumble. The group this year launched the free-to-play football title Big Match Striker.

The Develop Football Challenge has already seen a flurry of teams sign up to take on the mighty Develop United – with the likes of Exient, Sumo Digital, Sports Interactive, Bright Light, Testology, Crytek, The Creative Assembly, Jagex and Testronic throwing their boots in.

The five-a-side tournament takes place at the Power League in Barnet. The Challenge will see up to 32 entrants from studios, outsourcers, service companies and the financial community compete in a professional tournament.

Interest is high and spaces limited, so contact Andy.Harding@topcorner.co.uk to register your team. Or simply click here to register online.

Entry fee is £495 + VAT per squad of 10 players. All teams get to compete within high quality facilities inclusive of professional organisation, officials, trophies and refreshments.

There will be extensive media coverage of the event throughout Develop in print and online.

As well as bragging rights, a trophy, medals and PR, the winner of this year’s first ever Develop Football Challenge will gain free entry into the Top Corner Champions’ Cup 2011 – which features the top teams from a wide variety of UK industries.

Sponsorship opportunities are available via Katie.Rawlings@intentmedia.co.uk
