RTW staff's tannoy redundancy notice

RTW staff's tannoy redundancy notice

APB team informed of fate via microphone, claims source

According to reports about the demise of Realtime Worlds, a number of the staff at doomed studio learned of their imminent redundancy via a tannoy annoucement.

That's according to GamesIndustry.biz, which spoke to a source who detailed the process by which the All Points Bulletin team were informed about their future with the company.

"All the APB team - over a 100 people - were told to gather in a meeting room," claimed the unnamed source. "And then the names of those who were being made redundant were read out over a microphone, and they had to leave the room one-by-one and collect their redundancy package."

As a number of high profile studios head to to Dundee with an interest in recruiting opportunities, news has emerged that a potential buyer connected to RTW is re-hiring 23 staff to work on the near-complete Project: MyWorld.

Not true.

1) It was the normal mic that anyone presenting in that room used.

2) It was the people who were staying that were announced, and they each got a cheer until that got old.
