'Schofield': EA ‘treated me like shit’

The former Visceral Games boss attacks old flame

Sledgehammer Games co-founder Glen Schofield has apparently hit out at former employer EA, claiming the publisher “treated me like shit”.

An unconfirmed Twitter account of the game designer initially began to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Activision outfit Sledgehammer – a studio formed last July as Schofield walked out of EA.

But the Tweets cut closer as Schofield continued.

He said: “Wow, a year ago today I left EA. What a day that was. They really treated me like shit even after creating Dead Space for them”.

Last July Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey departed from Dead Space studio Visceral Games to form Sledgehammer Games. The group’s first projects have yet to be detailed.

Schofield (pictured) was the executive producer at Visceral, while fellow defector Michael Condrey was the senior development director of Dead Space.

The circumstances surrounding the duo’s departure is a matter of dispute, yet Schofield appeared that his account of the situation gained attention.

“Seems my tweet got some attention,” he later said. “Didn't mean to. But after a year of EA bashing us it's good to get it off my chest.”
