Heavy Rain star launches mo-cap company

Pascal Langdale’s Motives in Movement enters mo-cap film industry

Pascal Langdale, the star of Quantic Dream title Heavy Rain, has launched a motion capture company called Motives in Movement.

The company claims to use a new method of generating and re-using mo-cap narrative film for games based on character behavior. MIM say this can cut mo-cap costs by around 30%.

The new technology is based around catagorising behavior, and producing pre-filmed reaction and expression libraries which can be inserted into later scenes to reduce filming times and increase the available footage for individual narrative moments.

I think this is different from what centroid offers. I looked at the website motivesinmovement.com and
it looks like this company is offering an actor specific library..more emotions etc...not physical moves...a different approach??
