Seed fund set up to incubate ecosystem for new Apple platform
A New York seed fund designed to help those creating Apps for Apple's iPad has been established by the co-founders of CNET and MusicNation.
Called AppFund, the firm is hoping to encourage and support start-up developers looking for between $5000 and and $500,000 to begin work on titles for the recently announced Apple tablet gadget, along with similar devices.
The company, set up by CNET and E! Online co-founder Kevin Wendle and MusicNation co-founder Daniel Klaus, will also provide mentoring services, and is looking for titles that harness the functionality of social networking, business-to-business applications, utilities and 'collaborative entertainment' products.
"We are looking for Apps that capitalise on the dynamic and mobile nature of the iPad and similar tablet devices," reads the introduction to the service on AppFund's website.
