Ministers from Culture, Business and Health departments form after ELSPA meeting
The Government is to create an all-new ‘video games committee’ – in which cross-departmental representatives will be tasked with considering changes in policy to help the industry.
The decision was a result of ELSPA’s first formal meeting with new Minister for Creative Industries Siôn Simon last week. ELSPA director general Michael Rawlinson and Simon discussed the new PEGI age ratings system, tax breaks and more.
The new committee will feature representatives from the Department Of Culture, Media and Sport, the Department for Business Innovation and Skills, the Department of Health, the Home Office and the Department for Children, Schools and Families.

Seems like things are starting to happen, albeit very slowly. I guess now the trick is to get something in place BEFORE next year's election.
well on the surface of things it sounds like a good idea, but i wonder how much politicians know about the games industry, or even care. if they are looking at it from a solely financial/buisness point of view, i hope it'll mean british industry thrives and perhaps we'll have more regional and culturaly relevant games, rather than the now generic American shooter. however i always have reservations and harbour deep mistrust when it comes to politicians.
lets just hope we have a decent, home-grown industry that isn't heavily regulated by fat old men.
