Splash Damage appoints Fable II lead designer

Splash Damage, the independent UK developer, has appointed Richard Ham as creative director.

Ham brings with him a wealth of experience, most recently from his time as lead designer on Lionhead’s Fable II, and as creative lead on Sony’s best-selling shooter franchise Syphon Filter.

In joining Splash Damage, which developed Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, Ham will lead the design team currently working with Bethesda Softworks on a yet to be revealed triple-A multiplatform release.

Speaking of his new team member Paul Wedgwood, owner of Splash Damage and studio director, said: “His stunning track record makes him ideal to drive our vision for such a truly ambitious new multiplatform project.  I am constantly flabbergasted by his incredible design wit and intellect.”

Richard Ham, who has been in the industry for 15 years, added: “I’m really excited to be at Splash Damage. Their pedigree in shooters is absolutely fantastic and when I met the team and saw what they were working on, I knew I had to be part of it.”

Very interesting Boris. Reads like SD are leaning more towards some sort of 3rd person 'action/adventure' for their first home-brewed outing instead of a straight FPS.
